The Merezzate+ project includes 5 work packages.
The total cost of the project amounts to 3,352,511.25 euro
Below a very brief synthesis of each WP is presented with the list of the foreseen tasks.
WP1 – PROJECT MANAGEMENT (lead-Politecnico di Milano)
The project management activities (WP1) started on June 2018 and will end on December 2021.
The aim of this WP is to provide a proper coordination of all project activities, the smooth functioning of the partnership network and the timely execution of the agreed work plan, along with the appropriate and efficient management of technical reporting and all financial obligations.

WP2 – STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT AND CITIZEN INVOLVEMENT (lead- Poliedra)
The stakeholder engagement and citizen involvement activities (WP2) started on July 2018 and will end December 2021.
The aim of WP2 is the application of methods to co-design the actions to better reflect the user needs, to enhance sustainability of the community building process, to foster grassroots initiatives, and to train and raise awareness among the residents of the district.

WP3 – DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION (lead- A2A Smart City)
The design and implementation activities (WP3) started on June 2018 and will end December 2021.
The objective of the WP3 is to design and implement the three main pillars of Merezzate+ project: energy, mobility and circular economy. In general, the process will involve the following steps: – Feasibility study and design of the single measures in an integrated and optimized way – Set up of the basic infrastructure – Implementation, tuning of the services and
demonstration. An ICT community tool is developed to inform, manage, and monitor the services, and to introduce gamification actions as a “nudge” towards behavioural change.

WP4 – MONITORING AND EVALUATION OF THE IMPACTS (lead- Politecnico di Milano)
The activities related to the monitoring and evaluation of the expected project outcomes and impacts (WP 4) started in June 2018 and will end in December 2021 . The overall objective of WP 4 is to monitor and evaluate the impacts of the project actions, taking into account the environmental (e.g. the decrease in GHG emissions), social (e.g. the degree of inclusiveness of the residents) and economic (e.g.: the financial sustainability) criteria. The aim is to provide a comprehensive, updated, project-focused and easily accessible system able to collect and accurately measure the progress of the activities and their impacts, and to share them transparently within the consortium partners, the residents of the Merezzate district and the involved stakeholders.
– Task 4.1: Definition of the monitoring and evaluation framework
– Task 4.2: Design, implement and maintain a monitoring programme
– Task 4.3: Economic, social and environmental evaluation
WP5 – REPLICABILITY, TRANSFERABILITY AND COMMUNICATION (lead- Poliedra)
The replicability, transferability and communication activities (WP5) started on August 2018 and will end December 2021. The WP 5 identifies the barriers, conditions and benefits for in order to replicate the proposed approach in other contexts, and creates a stable and strong institutional network also through communication and dissemination activities.
