The Project Accelerator Workshop

The Climate-KIC Accelerator Workshop “Merezzate+, held in Milano the last 25th of October, at Politecnico di Milano – Campus Leonardo. The workshop was organized by Climate KIC Italy together with project partners, in order to open and discuss the new vision of Merezzate innovative district to all stakeholder from Milano but not only.

It’s been a moment to discuss and to match on different ideas on the district future.

The Workshop involved approximately 40 persons, all project partners and many local stakeholders concerned with energy, transport, environment and nature based solutions issues: different departments of Municipality of Milano, InvestiRE SGR, FHS – Social Housing Foundation, Legambiente, GSE – Energy Services Manager, Planet Idea, AMAT – Mobility, Environment, Territory Agency, RSE – Ricerca Sistema Energetico (Research into Electrical Systems), Eliante coop.

The participants have been involved in an interactive session, moderated by EIT Climate-KIC experts. Divided in the 3 groups, each participant had the occasion to actively work on the main 3 themes (Energy, Mobility, and Circular Economy) and contributed answering at different questions.

For each group the participants worked on big maps, mobile sheets and post it. At the end, the three experts from Climate-KIC explained and summarized the results.

During the afternoon, a group of participants visited the Merezzate new buildings under construction.

Merezzate+ presented at the 10th IALE World Congress

The 10th IALE World Congress (Milan, 1-5 July 2019), organized by the local Chapter SIEP – Italian Society of Landscape Ecology, is the international congress dedicated to Landscape Ecology, an international meeting opportunity for everyone working with landscape ecology or who has an interest in the field.    

IALE 2019, held by more than 1.000 participants, was dedicated to the theme “Nature and Society facing the Anthropocene” and it’s been a great opportunity to learn more about the latest in latest ecology, to discuss with people from all over the world, to share on going works and learn from others.

Friday 5th of July, in the morning, Giuliana Gemini – Consorzio Poliedra participated in the Symposium “Good anthropocene practices in contributing landscape ecology” with a speech entitled “Behavioral change towards sustainable and resilient communities. The role of community involvement, green co-design and gamification tools”, presenting Merezzate + project as a case study.
