Green Procurement
Merezzate+ intended to provide a handbook for green procurement, that will be the guide for cooperative and sustainable purchases in the quarter. The contents of the handbook will be shared, detailed, customized during the time with the community’s needs. In parallel will be conducted an action for raising awareness about green procurement principles (in relation to the community engagement activities in WP2). The technical support to the Ethical Purchasing Groups will be guaranteed during the project.

Common spaces, shared services and collaborative activities
Merezzate+ project intends to integrate the approach used in social housing projects adding a strong connotation in terms of environmental sustainability and circular economy, with the final aim of supporting the creation of a circular social housing district. The activities are mostly preparatory to co‐design phase, since they include all the technical activities to be conducted to identify and pre‐design the circular economy solutions (shared services and collaborative activities, including management solutions), that will be proposed as example during the co‐design activities, so as to be selected and better defined by the future residents.
Poliedra is the leader of the activity. FHS, A2A Smart city, Planet Idea, Social Manager and future residents and others (e.g. Legambiente) working in the field of civic actions about circular economy end environmental sustainability will be involved during the time as key actors.

Extensive information and communication campaign on waste
Merezzate+ intends to raise awareness in the waste management in the new quarter. It’s very important to boost the separate collection and the reduction of waste towards the community as a very important environmental issue. Moreover, it’s very important to sensitize citizens on environmental emergencies as plastic and food waste.
This is why, with the strong collaboration with AMSA and the Milano Municipality, education and information activities have been planned to be effectively implemented in 2019-2020:
• Information and communication campaigns towards Merezzate residents for the improvement of quantity and quality of separate collection.
• Extensive communication campaign, from Face-to-face awareness raising and education to public outreach meetings about the integrated waste cycle in Milan
The key player in this case will be AMSA, responsible of the waste management for the city of Milano, strongly supported by Poliedra for citizens’ involvement. Other subjects will collaborate as Milano municipality, FHS, Legambiente (especially for plastic free initiative).
